ARRANGING AN APPOINTMENT

Please telephone (01723) 360178 during opening hours. We will answer your call as soon as possible.

Alternatively you can make an appointment:

- With a receptionist at the surgery

- Booking online using this website – Please see the SystmOne section of this website for more detail.

When making an appointment please tell us if you consider that your health issue is urgent. We attempt to ensure that patients with medically urgent problems are given a same day appointment. Please understand that this may not be with the person you prefer to see.

If your problem is less urgent you will be offered the first available appointment. It may be necessary to wait several days if you want to see the doctor of your choice.

Appointments are for 10 minutes. If you have a complex problem which you think will need a longer consultation time please mention this concern when making an appointment.

Please make a separate appointment for each person wishing to see the Doctor or Nurse. For example: if you are mum with a baby and you bother require to be seen by the doctor or nurse you need to book two appointments. Where possible we will offer you two consecutive appointments.

CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS

Please tell us as soon as possible if you no longer want your appointment or if you are unable to keep it, even if this is just before your appointment, please telephone and speak to a receptionist. If you cannot call us please ask someone else to do it on your behalf. We can then give your appointment to someone else, often even at short notice.

We need every appointment for our patients so please ensure you tell us that your appointment is freed up for someone else, your failure to do so will mean another patient having to wait unnecessarily.

AUTOMATIC REMINDERS

Where appointments are made for a date in the future we can send an automated diary message to your mobile phone. You will receive a text message for your appointment a week before and also the day before your appointment to remind you of the date and the time.

Please ensure that we have your mobile phone number and notify us promptly if you change it.
